We stayed here with 2 families with young children over the Easter break having booked the hotel through a company called seamonkey business as we were unable to find the actual hotel website. This company have rather cleverly hijacked the name to make it look as if you are viewing the hotels actual website so we booked 2 Garden Deluxe rooms as they were described as being in the quietest part of the hotel. How wrong this was, in fact there was not a single part of the hotel which was quiet and that could escape the loud booming music pumped out by Las Mamitas beach club from noon until late into the evening. After 1 night we requested a move to another marginally quieter part of the hotel which was in a standard room. The reception staff were bombarded continually by residents about the horrendous levels of music from the club but they told us they telephoned every day to complain but there was nothing they could do. The General Manager was always unavailable when requested, hiding behind his reception staff and continual meetings and after 4 requests to see him we gave up. With the exception of the above this is a fantastic hotel, great location, small, lovely gardens, great staff, fantastic food, nice clean rooms and good pool and beach area. It is just such a shame that you had to shout at your family over dinner to even be heard. It is sad that the tourist authority of Playa del Carmen do not do something about the disturbance of the beach club as we spoke with many guest who were also upset with the disturbance that the beach club caused. Many European tour operators use this hotel and we spoke with some guests who said they were unlikely to continue to in the future. One can only assume in the usual Mexican way someone somewhere is paying the right bribes to ensure the club remains able to continue to operate in this manner.
